I built my own test track and currently use a pillow as my crash box at the finish end. I want to make a stop area like the pro tracks have that raise the center of the car and use some sort of friction material, like rubber perhaps, to stop the car. I am open to any suggestions.

Just an update. I find that the non-skid material sold as drawer liners for toolboxes, and for preventing a piece of wood from sliding while sanding, or routing, seems to work quite well.
