    Hi Everyone,

I was curious if anyone had an opinion on this. I'm attempting to make weight pockets in the rear of the car body and then do some form of a ladder body. Would it be best to router out the weight pockets, router out the ladder sections and then drill the axle holes. Or would you start by drilling the axle holes and then move on to the router?

I was curious if the creating the weight pockets and cutting out sections of the body would disturb/deform the axle holes.

I am using the silver bullet xtreme to drill the axle holes and once all is said and done, the body will be cut out with a band saw.

    Thanks for any advice!

Verify the drill first, if that’s no good start over.

Makes sense, I watched the video from Lightnin Boy that you recommended. Good stuff, I was worried the the axle holes might get disturbed, but no sense in doing all that work if the alignment is off to begin with. Thanks for your reply.

I agree with Jupiter, I understand the concern with worrying about cutting out the weight pockets with the axle holes already drilled, but I don’t believe it has any affect on the axle holes. I’ve tested a drill before cutting it out, and then have built the car to the point right before taping weight in and have seen little to no change in the drill height, and no difference in toe in or toe out.
